...With the US release on Shanachie and the album now available everywhere from iTunes to Amazon, I think my work here is just about done...time to get back to my day-job! I've enjoyed my debut as an online entrepreneur, and I'd like to say thanks to everybody who took the time to order a copy. Of course, I'll continue to take orders here for anyone who wants one of the originals...

Hey Andy I hear Swing Out Sister are back for more live dates in October 2005. Is that true? That would be terrific. Can we buy tickets yet? I've had a quick look at your website but couldn't see anything. More importantly, will there still be copies of the original on sale then? or would you advise to order a copy by post?
Andy - let me say that I for one certainly appreciate all your efforts to make the CD available at a fair price for all us fans over here in the US who are usually starved of your talents. Keep up the good work!

Hi,
I am a great fan of Swing Out Sister. Since the first album came out
I've tried to get all of the cd's in my collection, wich is almost
done. Even those only available in Japan, with the help of a Japanese
friend who is traveling a lot between The Netherlands (my
home-country) and Japan for our company. One cd is missing in my
collection, The Splendid Collection. This one contains a lot of great
remixed tracks wich are not on any other cd. My japanese friend tried
to order this cd last month in Japan, but sadly it was not available
anymore. Even in the second-hand shops on the internet it could not
be purchased. Is there a way to buy this cd (it is not a problem for
me to purchase it in Japan, The United Kingdom or the U.S.A. since I
will be visiting these country's for business coming weeks) or to
get/buy the tracks of this cd, using the internet? Please is their a
way to get these fantastic remixes or even better, this cd? I would
be eternal thankful if anybody could show me the way to this
cd/tracks....

Fred - the 'Splendid Collection', if memory serves, was a limited-edition boxed set released only in Japan and deleted some years ago. As you mention, it's not currently available, although I've seen the odd one turn up on eBay from time to time, usually at an inflated price...

Andrew: Gave 5 SOS CDs to Frank Capp, Hwd contractor & drummer for Sinatra on down. I wanted him to know about you (I'm a fan of his.). In his opinion, it's pop, not jazz. At the same time though, ackowledged that Corrine has a "good voice", the records are "very good" and the arrangements difficult. My own opinion is that it's always been more jazz than pop. Capp leads his own big band of top players (one of which is Gary Grant) & is a marvelous musician. So I wanted his opinion. Received Live in Tokyo & marvel at the new arrangements and vocal work. So tight! Were u reading? AND a whole new sound - no horns this time. You've reinvented yourselves yet again! And thank u for putting out another album, "Live"! I ordered it from Amazon & once again can hardly wait to hear it!

However, be prepared to utter some unkind ones when I tell you that the "Live' release on Shanachie is the same recording as the 'Live in Tokyo' available here - just repackaged. They didn't like 'In Tokyo' for some reason. Sorry if you've ordered essentially the same album twice. Maybe we should hvae clarified the situation a little more...

Hi Andy, Thanks for the tip. But indeed, that is too expensive for me. I am only interested in the cd wich contains the remixes, the other three are already in my collection. Paying many dollars for four cd's, to get one is a little bit overdone. I will keep an eye on the "market", maybe I'll get lucky one day.

After waiting quite a while for Live In Tokyo (it got lost in the post), it finally arrived yesterday. At first I wasn't sure I liked it, but I took it to work with me today, and I was glad that I did! I haven't had this much fun with a cd in a long time! This is great! The arrangements are lovely! You have given new life to old favorites. Twilight World and Sugarfree are fantastic! Thank you for continuing to create beautiful and classy music. I hope it keeps on coming, because I just can't get enough of it--and I am sure that there are many more who feel the same!

We've spoken before (well, via Kun Kim's site) and earlier in the year Corinne was gracious enough to answer a few questions for me regarding an article I was freelancing. I was so happy to finally meet her and thank her at the Ramshead Live show in Baltimore.
Please excuse the rather unorthodox way of contacting you, but I wasn't sure how to go through your agent, so I thought I'd give this venue a try.
I have a few ideas I'd like to chat with you about if you'd be interested, but I'd rather keep them discreet. I find it completely compelling you grew up in Manchester at a time when the music scene there was exploding. What's even more interesting to me is the fact that while you seem to have become a part of it, you ultimately eshewed it for something else (which, in itself, seems to be in keeping with the anarchical spirit of a good number of Mancs). I recall a quote from Corinne a while back that went something like: "In Manchester, you chose one of two paths -- embracing the sort of grim industrial road of the likes of Joy Division/New Order or one that was more escapist in nature. I think we chose the latter." I'd like to explore this idea further if you're interested, so please respond here and I'll be happy to go into my ideas in more detail.

I just received a signed (by Corinne?) copy of Live In Tokyo and it's absolutely great. I like live sessions the best because of nice vibrant edges and room for new things and surprises.
I 're-discovered' SOS a few years ago and I hope you will be coming to Holland sometime. That must be a long time ago, I think...
