What's up Andy!

You underestimate yourself, my friend, by not pressing up enough of these delicious albums. I was fortunate enough to grab the live CD in Anaheim before the first US show, and even more fortunate to get the exquisite Corinne to sign it! Missed you over here!

Hi Wes,

Actually, not so much a pressing problem as a shipping one. The band are moving around a lot and we missed a fedex delivery somewhere in California. Hopefully get it ironed out in the next couple of days. Still, at least I'm learning about online transactions!

Hi Andy,

Just wanted to let you know that after two full months of intensive listening, Live In Tokyo still blows me away! What you did with Sugarfree, Am I The Same Girl and Filth And Dreams is just out of this world!

Please please please remaster more live albums; my lust for new SOS output is insatiable!! ;-)

Best,

Good Day to you.

One small hang up though, I do have a paypal account but couldn't log-in. I thought I would let you know. Thank You in advance.

I also tried to purchase the CD on June 8, 2005 at 7:30pm EST using the provided link and received the time out error message. I didn't take that long to enter my info and I also have security concerns regarding my credit card info.

Wilco, thanks for the encouragement. I've read your posts regarding LIT and they never fail to warm the proverbial cockles...

I have tried 5 different times to log my info in here to order this, and its not registering.
Would really like to order this, but I'm tired of wasting my time by constantly re-entering the information. If anybody has another suggestion,I'm open to it.

I just tried ordering again -- same timeout problem. Perhaps it doesn't work for US credit card orders.

Please put the paypal sign-in box on a secure page. Thanks!

Just ordered the CD by using a different computer. Not sure why I couldn't do it from home. Does anybody know how long it takes to ship this from England to the United States? I'm certainly looking forward to hearing this.
Thanks!

Art - I understand the concern. Due to URL masking, my domain name remains in the address bar when you go to the secure paypal page. If you want to be assured from a security point of view, please accress the paypal page from this link http://legrandlarge.blogspot.com/
This should take you to the paypal source page with 'https' at the start...

hope there are some copies at the Birchmere show on the 14th. god, we CAN'T wait. in '97, we traveled to San Francisco to see ya and now we're headed to the East Coast. if you ever consider playing in Denver, the Bluebird, Gothic, or Ogden are about the right sized venues for SOS.

cheers!

Andy!

Great to see that the album is finally up for sale at a reasonable price!

I've been listening to the album for quite some time now, and it's really wonderful! "Surrender" sounds rejuvenated, almost!!

Keep that wonderful music coming!

And keep swinging,

Bjorn

Hello Andy / Corine
I´m trying to get a copy of this new live CD which should be wonderful.
Now the most important question:
WHEN WILL YOU GIVE THE BRAZILIAN FANS THE DEVINE HAPPINESS OF SEEING YOU LIVE IN BRAZIL ????
Hope it doesn´t take too long, please.
All the best,
Alessandro

Hi Andy,

Great to hear that you actively read the SOS boards! Have you ever -- by any chance -- checked out my remix of Alone? It's in the Gallery section of the SOS site. What do you think?

Also: you should really come over with the band to Paradiso in Amsterdam; it'll be great!

I almost don't know what to say. You're communicating with fans. I'm a bit shy perhaps. Caught the Anaheim & Hwd shows & RIGHT IN FRONT! (I live in Glendale CA). Saw part of Corrine's sound check but didn't say hi. At Hwd show I was close to stage & called out "Dirty $!" She said "u remember that do u? U've got a good memory (!!). That's one of the first songs I ever wrote." I wonder if she remembers that? Sd she'd seen some of us the night before...seems to be a lovely person (surprising for a diva of her stature).
I'm a drummer who is hooked on jazz (both bop & contemporary)& classical (& ALL music really). I'm sure that u number among ur fans many, many musicians. But yet many who came to the shows were obviously not musicians! U can tell when they try to sing along w/ your great tunes (Ouch!). But SOS can make a statement musically & still reach out to everybody. I thought it was just me who was hooked! Soberingly found out otherwise! I've been in awe of u & Corrine since I became a fan belatedly in 1998. It would appear that there's nothing that the two of u can't play & no note that Corrine can't reach - your musicianship is nothing less than prodigous & stunning. Your studio arrangements are unsurpassed, all of 'em! LOVE the strings, LOVE the horns (all top session players, even some from out here! Gary Grant? I played a gig w/ Gary Grant years ago. I've worked w/ Don Ellis, Jimmy Whitherspoon, & played with Louie Bellson.) You'll always be my favorite band. I think you're the absolute best in the business. As Henry Adler said about Buddy Rich:"If there IS anyone out there like him, I haven't seen him yet!" You are truly great artists (in the vein of Stravinsky, Stockhausen, Pavoratti, and Heifetz) and not merely "contemporary jazz". With you, I hear more of a connection w/ Parker, Gillesppie, & Sarah Vaughn. 98% of what u do is original material, and MAN can u guys write!!!!! Do u ever listen to KJAZZ here in LA? They hv a Latin Jazz show, & the timbale thing on "Circulate" would seem to fit right in. And I love the work of your wonderful guitarist Tim Cansfield and great drummer Myke Wilson (he plays with great energy but uses it so tastefully.). And KJAZZ DOES know about you. Go figure!!
Thanx so very much for coming out - missed getting CD ("STUPID, STUPID, STUPID! Shldn't hv waited until show was over! In my excitement over what I had just heard, I forgot!) & getting that PayPal hangup when I try to order from u.
I really want it. So will keep trying. If u don't think I wanna see SOS again you're crazy!
I found myself greatly anticipating the shows and being well rewarded. Classical in the studio, jazz funk on the road! What will u do next? There's a world of admiring fans out there who want to know! Your work in the studio & live is indeed pheneomenal.
I'll always be an admirer.
Come out to LA & play again! Please??

Hi Andy!

Tried ordering the new CD a couple of times, but it timed out each time (how many times can one use "time" in the same sentence, really?).

Was wondering if I need to order another way or just keep trying?

By the way, I saw the band in Baltimore last night. Absolutely fantastic. Missed you.

Still yawning this afternoon because I had too much fun meeting the outstanding Mike, "Phenomenal Mom" Dee and the ever-lovely Corinne. Had an hour's drive after the show and an early workday today, but wouldn't have missed it for the world. And my wife and I will be at the Birchmere cheering them on tomorrow as well.

Come round next time!

Best wishes,
Bryan

andy, my dear:
i am soooooo surprised to see that you guys did not include any tracks from
somewhere deep in the night and where our love grows on the new album...
are the songs from the new album the songs corinne will be singing at the concert?
i am gonna die if she does not sing
"you on my mind" and any song from somewhere deep in the night... alpine crossing... anything... kaleidoscope world has always been my fave swing out sister album, till somewhere deep in the night was born. THAT is my very fave album of all times. it is purely swing out sister at their best...
now... one little request here...
would you pretty please, with sugar on top, ever consider recording my fave song of all times, from the movie 'THE STERILE CUCKOO' (in UK titled 'Pookie") Come Saturday Morning, recorded originally by The Sandpipers?????!
i don't think anyone has ever recorded that track better than The Sandpipers, but I am very sure, "you guys" would be the only ones to make it better.
better make it better...

Andy - Thanks so much for producing this live album, I can't wait to hear it. Although there were no cds for sale at last night's Philadelphia show, I'm glad to be able to order it here. Thanks also for all the great music over the years, I love it all and it was an incredible privilege to be able to finally hear it played live last night at the Troc. Making the evening all the more memorable, musically speaking, was the wonderful music mix that was played over the sound system prior to the show that was played from an iPod which the sound guys told us was programmed by you. We all really enjoyed it and would love to have a listing of the tracks if you'd be so kind as to share this information, either here or on the Swing Out Sister website or via email. Also, please consider releasing a complete concert on dvd, cd, or both. There is such a wide territory of the world which will likely never have an opportunity to see a live Swing Out Sister show, and such a release would only increase your potential audience, I should think. Thanks again for all the music for all the years. Cheers. - William Kates

Hey guys - sorry haven't been here for a few days. Have been a little snowed under with CD mailouts! Thanks for all the positive feedback.
Derek, I'm very flattered by your comments, but as for Tim & Myke, couldn't agree more - phenomenal players, the pair of them, and great people too...
Walt, I'm aware of the Sandpipers, but not the track you mention - I'll see if I can find it...

Hey Andy!

We went to the concert at the Trocadero in Philadelphia and everybody was faboulous. I just can't believe it, last time I saw swing out sisters was late 80's in the Philippines and I was seated all the way up in the bleachers. After the Concert my partner and I stayed behind hoping to catch the band and everybody was so nice and accommodating. I just can't believe it! ILOVEYOU GUYS!

it is very swing out sister, as the soundtrack consists on variation of the same theme.

COME SATURDAY MORNING
"Come Saturday morning
I'm going away with my friend
We'll Saturday-spend till the end of the day
Just I and my friend
We'll travel for miles in our Saturday smiles
And then we'll move on
But we will remember long after Saturday's gone."

Andrew: Was thrilled to see ur response! And of course I meant every word of what I said! May I have an autographed picture of U and Corrine? I've always wanted one, real bad... "Derek" ,1226 Highland Av., Glendale, CA 91202 USA. Last name Dreizen. Again, the Anaheim & Hwd shows were wonderful. Pkd hses, great time & was completely mind-blown by what I'd heard (my "first time", as it were.). Surpassed expectations...of course.

pure xtc and bliss???
corinne is beautiful... she was kind enough to sign a few cd covers (andy, i gave her two copies of the sterile cuckoo soundtrack. tell me what you think, when you get it.)
the concert was great, though i was sad not to hear any songs from somewhere deep in the night and only 'love won't let you down from the last album'.
you know, the living return is my least fave sos album but i guess that's the album that translate better to a live concert.
you two are fantastic and i just can not get enough of you.
thanks for all the great music.
the live cd is superb.
hey... if you use me to shoot the next album cover, i will do it for free...
think about it.

all my love to you two.

Hi Andy,
I am writing after seeing the show in NYC... I loved it. You guys are the shit! I am a former TV booker/producer... and I am going to do everything in my power to make sure that Swing Out Sister plays a bigger venue in NYC. Your influences are so all over the musical terrain - and the audience [at least in NY] reflected it. Congratulations... can't wait to receive my CD Live in Tokyo.

Andy,

I received the CD today and have just finished listening to it. All I can say is, "Wow!" No, actually I can say more than that. First of all, THANK YOU for making it available. Secondly, it sounds just as fantastic as everyone else has stated.

And lastly, although the CD only lists one song per track, I've noticed several other songs that have been snuck in as medleys, and I'm trying to figure them all out. Can you help me? Here's what I think I've heard so far.

1. surrender / world out of control
2. get in touch with yourself
3. la la means i love you
4. sugarfree
5. stoned soul picnic
6. closer than the sun / forever blue / alfie
7. heaven only knows
8. filth & dreams
9. now you're not here / no scrubs
10. am i the same girl
11. breakout / when morning comes
12. twilight world

Thanks again! :-)

Blessings,
Mickey

Ordered Live In Tokyo without a glitch, received today, and just listened to it in its entirety. So raw, so imaginative. Corinne's vocals especially multi-textured with many delightful nuances. Songs within songs. I feel so fortunate to have heard this CD. Thank you for making it... beautiful, possible, tender, textured. Breakout and Twilight World out of this world!

Sorry to have waited so long, but I wanted you to know I received the CD last week and it hasn't left my car stereo since! Incredible talent all around. The mark of a dynamic arranger...these are songs we've heard for years, but they sound so completely new and fresh. While I'm sure it's an unbelievable amount of work, it sounds like you all were having such fun...singers spot on and the musicians could not have been tighter. talented Andy

I discovered your music when i came back to France from africa with the song surrender.

then I realized who swing out sister was when looking at the jacket of the album Kaleidoscope world, one day, on a terrace of a flat somewhere in Nice watching a burning hill at 7 Am with my girlfriend at that time....back to 1991.

since then your music, Corinne's voice, the arrangements, the surprises, are a gift to me, to my close friends.

just a note to thank you for the good sound u brought to us over the years.

thats it,
